VHLA Inc. is committed to providing outstanding customer service by creating a relationship with our clients, from the initial meeting through project completion.

COMPLEMENTARY INITIAL MEETING

The first step is to thoroughly understand your vision, needs, and aspirations for the project with a meeting on site. Typically this meeting involves discussions about your dreams for the project and how your family, friends and pets will connect from indoor to outdoor spaces. Their goal is to begin to assemble the many elements involved in the project in order to pull together a cohesive design.  These unique features include the local environs, house orientation, existing grading and drainage and most importantly, your home. At the end of the meeting they will discuss a retainer to engage their services based on the scope of the work to be done. When that is accepted they ask for the survey of your property to proceed to the Assessment and Design phases.

PROPERTY ASSESSMENT

In this phase, visits to your property help create the Design through photos, measurements, sketches and taking of elevations with a transit. Visiting your site also helps to understand how the property functions and flows and how to improve and enhance the home and garden to create an elegant plan. Eric and Diana don’t look at the landscape like most folks do. They see spatial relationships and connect spaces primarily to create beauty and functionality. No matter how these spaces are filled and utilized, the one constant they strive for is to connect outdoor spaces to the architecture of your home, creating beauty and functionality.

DESIGN

The design meeting is where the plan and your ideas meet in a collaborative process. Though the von Hoffmanns have many years of experience, they are always interested in all ideas and open to all client input, understanding that the best outcomes result from working together. VHLA provides an estimate with each design. An estimate is always a starting point. There is flexibility to expand or contract the cost of the project based on materials selected, size of plant material, etc.

CONSTRUCTION

This is where your design transitions from concept to reality. From site clearing to final touches, we keep you informed at every stage, ensuring transparency and providing opportunities for your feedback and necessary adjustments. Our goal is to maintain quality and fidelity to our shared vision, with clear communication throughout.
