The project focused on a thoughtful blend of enhancement and preservation, updating a historic property on a challenging, steep site atop the Watchung Mountains. We were charged with boosting the property's functionality and aesthetic appeal and leveraging the majestic views of New York City.

The design raised the site to level the backyard and added stairs for better access and views of Manhattan. Historical garden elements were preserved and integrated with new features. Incorporating an environmentally sensitive drainage system under a grass panel demonstrated a commitment to sustainability, adhering to local environmental codes without compromising the design's visual or functional appeal.
